It was a cold and blustery Mother's Day when Virgil apologetically told me my gift was late. A little later an older pickup slowly came down our driveway. As I walked out to see who was visiting, I noticed the back of the enclosed bed was covered in wrapping paper with a big bow attached. I could hardly contain my excitement - had my whimsical suspicion that he had bought babydoll sheep for me been true? It was! As the sweet older lady got out of her pickup with a "Happy Mother's Day" balloon, I knew it had to be sheep - and it was! And it was love at first sight.
Demelza and Kitra are twin sisters and the beginning of our mini babydoll flock. I had never been able to decide if I wanted a black or white sheep to start out with, so Virgil bought me both!
Since then, our flock has grown quickly and we now have 10 babydoll ewes, 2 babydoll rams, 5 valais or valais cross ewes, 2 valais rams, 2 targhee ewes, and our babydoll/valais wether, Huckleberry.
